Janice. Overall Fitness & Firming Up

I've worked with 2 personal trainers before Rob and I thought I was doing pretty well. But then I started training with Rob and realised that I wasn't working very hard at all! .....

Rob sets the bar high and believes that I'm capable of reaching it. His workouts are really, really challenging, but because he clearly knows his stuff, I trust his judgement and constantly find that I can do more than I thought I could. And, I've grown stronger and fitter as a result.

Also as a working mum, its not always easy to get to the gym so Rob's been flexible in giving me programs to do at home between gym workouts. Knowing that I'm not totally on my own if I can't get to the gym motivates me to exercise more consistently...especially since Rob always checks in with me at my weekly session to see how the week has gone! On top of that, Rob is also a really nice guy. He's calm, friendly, encouraging and reliable. i highly recommend working with Rob to achieve your health and fitness goals.

Trevor, 59. Weight loss and injury rehabilitation.

I believe Rob to be a great personal trainer and advisor.

As a 59 year male, gym hater, I very reluctantly looked for a personal trainer to help me achieve my weight loss goal and to help me increase my overall flexibility and general fitness. I consider myself very fortunate to have come across Rob. Rob listened to my goals and helped me refine them ensuring we catered for and managed my serious back injury....

When I am exercising Rob is a great encourager, he judges well when I am about done on any set of exercises then manages to get that extra little bit from me on each set. I can never do on my own what Rob manages to get from me. Rob never nags, never makes you feel bad and is so encouraging I want to go to the next session, even though I hate gyms. After 10 months with Rob I have met my first weight loss goal on time and am now actively working to the next goal. I am a lot fitter and flexible than at any time since about age 40, all due to Rob’s efforts.

Heather, 58. Weight loss and injury rehabilitation.

OK- I have had an injury that has prevented me from being able to exercise for the last two and a half years. I found myself at 58 years of age, overweight, unfit,  dissatisfied with myself and still visiting my physio at least once a week. ‘So’ said my husband,’ Rob can help you’, Rob being the personal trainer whom my husband had been quoting for months as he set about improving his own fitness. ‘No way’ I thought to myself.’ I hate gyms and there will be nothing I can do anyway.’...

As time went by, I ran the idea passed my physio who thought it was any excellent idea at that stage of my recovery and set about communicating with Rob about my limitations. Rob then organised a programme for me. To my amazement, my gym sessions affected my whole outlook on life. It was a fantastic  feeling to have so many things I could do after so long of not being able to do anything. I started enjoying being more active –it made me feel great.

Rob has played a large part in my transformation. So often I arrive for my biweekly sessions feeling tired and/or negative. Before I realise it he has got me working and the time is over quickly. Rob can sense my mood and enthusiasm (or lack thereof!) and manages to get me working whether I realise it or not....I have calluses on my hands from the equipment so I must be a real work out junkie –in my dreams!! He is very positive, encouraging and manages to persuade ‘2 more’ of anything out of me!

Rob’s anatomical and physiological  knowledge is good and his advice always sound. He makes sure that my use of equipment is safe and I do not hurt myself. As well, Rob is a nice young man with a good sense of humour and respectful way about him.

I now consult with my physio only periodically, usually for a minor ‘tweak’ of an area. I still hate going to the gym and get dizzy at  the smell of sweat but do feel really good that I have been.

I thank Rob for this.

Nate, 29. Muscle building and fat loss.

Having been in and out of gyms for the best part of 10 years, my fitness fluctuated wildly as I hit the motivation highs and lows that accompany a ‘get-fit’ regime.  I was determined to break this up and down cycle and sustain a high level of fitness and well being, which is why I turned to Body in Motion to help me with this.  It wasn’t until I was under the instruction of Rob that I started to see the benefits of personal training, ranging from learning the correct techniques to eating the correct foods.  ...

Having Rob’s persistent guidance and reinforcement of key themes on a regular basis meant that I was far more driven to succeed and prove to myself that I was able to break through my previously piecemeal approach to fitness and set about a lifestyle change that would hold me in good stead for the future.  Thanks to Rob, I did succeed.  I am now a person that is not just motivated going to the gym but I enjoy doing it.  I have lost weight, increased my muscle mass, improved my appearance and have far more confidence in work and social environments.  I’m comfortable in knowing what my goals are and with Rob’s help, the path to achieve these.  The positivity I have gained through succeeding physically has spread through other aspects of my life and I feel better now than I ever have in the past.  I would thoroughly recommend Body in Motion as a key tool in helping you with your fitness goals and would recommend to anyone who is looking to motivate themselves to achieve them.

Joanne, 26.  Fat loss.

After 12 months of trying to motivate myself into a good exercise routine and healthier eating, and getting no where as a result, I decided it was time to seek the higher powers of a personal trainer. To be honest, I don't really like exercise much. I feel exhausted just thinking about going to the gym.  ...

I don't like being hot and sweaty and the thought of moving my body in a furious motion makes me shudder. I'm rather uncoordinated and highly accident prone. I also complain a little bit. Thankfully...there's Rob!

I have been training with Rob for about 6 months now and it is probably the only reason I'm still keeping a good record of attendance at the gym! Through our weekly personal training sessions Rob has kept me motivated through challenging exercises, friendly banter and the occasional reprimand when I admit I've consumed something laden with calories! He also, genrally listens to my complaining with good grace.

Rob has given me advice on how to get the most from my own workouts and helped me to cut out the unneccasry foods that have been stopping me from achieving my goals. Under his guidance I have lost 10 kgs to date and although I still have a long way to go I know I'm in capable hands!
